Clearstep Braces in Glasgow from Skye Dental Group

Clearstep is a clear brace system comprised of custom-made aligners that gently align teeth into position.

How does Clearstep work?

A series of custom-made aligners are used to move the teeth, each of which is worn for around 2 weeks and then swapped for the next, until treatment is complete. The aligners are all slightly different and will be manufactured according to your specific treatment plan.

Stages of treatment

Stage 1: Your Glasgow Clearstep dentist will examine your mouth and inform you whether or not the treatment is suitable for your orthodontic requirements. If given the go ahead the dentist will then take impressions and images of your teeth to be used by technicians for the manufacture of your aligners.

Stage 2: When the aligners are returned to our practice they will be fitted.

Stage 3: We will arrange regular check-ups to monitor your progress and make sure that your smile develops correctly.

What are the advantages of Clearstep?

The major advantage is the discreet manner in which teeth can be straightened, as this means that nobody will be aware of your braces.

Clearstep aligners are removable and can be removed to drink, eat and brush your teeth. There is no metal to irritate your gums and there is no need for any painful appointments to tighten or adjust the braces.

Is treatment painful?

The aligners are designed to provide maximum comfort and are very light. They do not need any tightening or adjusting, but they may take a little getting used to when they are first fitted.

How long does treatment take?

Treatment time is dependent on the patient’s case. Minor cases usually take around 9 months while more complex cases can be 12-18 months.

How much does Clearstep treatment cost?

The cost of treatment is based on the individual case. Your Glasgow Clearstep dentist will discuss the costs with you, but you can expect to pay around £1990.

Is Clearstep suitable for everyone?

The treatment is suitable for the majority of orthodontic cases. Your dentist will discuss this with you during the opening appointment.

How long do I have to wear my aligners?

You should wear your aligners for as long as possible. Ideally, you should only take them out to eat, drink and clean your teeth.
